An avatar is a genetically engineered race in the Avatar Universe, a Human/Na'vi hybrid, meant to house a human mind. Selected humans psionically connect with their avatar bodies, which greatly resemble their human template. They are used to explore Pandora without exopacks and to easily interact with the natives.
