The Galactic Empire was a galactic government of the Star Wars universe established by Chancellor Palpatine. It replaced the Galactic Republic in the aftermath of the Clone Wars.
Purging the ancient Jedi Order from the galaxy during Order 66, the capital of the Galactic Empire was centered on the core world of Coruscant. They were an an authoritarian empire that was dominated by Humans. It was represented secretly by the Sith and a number of species including humanoids which were considered inferior.
