The Guardians of Time, or Guardians, or Council of Guardians, were masters of reality in the Doctor Who Universe, elemental forces embodying several aspects of the universe. Created by the Matrix Lords under Rassilon's guidance, they were the upper echelons of the Great Old Ones. Despite being at the pinnacle of reality, they would defer to "Greater Old Ones" in some matters.
